How Old Should A Newborn Be For A Photoshoot?
I am professional newborn photographer providing newborn photoshoot services in Delhi, Gurgaon and Noida for many years. One of the most commonly asked query by my maternity photo shoot (yes you read it right, you should plan for your newborn photoshoot when you are getting your maternity photoshoot done) clients that when should they get their newborn photoshoot done?
So I thought to cover this query through this post. As a photography style definition of newborn photoshoot , the best time for a newborn photoshoot is between 15 to 30 days old. But dont be disheartned if you cant plan for your newborn photoshoot that early, then you still have time till 2-3 months of your baby to get a baby photoshoot, which is just slightly different then newborn photoshoot. A baby photoshoot covers photo session a bit differently in terms of posing as the baby grows a bit and few of the specific newborn poses cant be done as the baby doesnt swaddle anymore. So the answer to key question about how old should a newborn be for a photoshoot is following
Best time for a newborn photoshoot is 15 days to 30 days old
But I strongly recommend all my clients to consider the following points before planning your newborn photoshoot
Consult With Your Newborn Pediatrician
I strongly recommend to consult with your newborn pediatrician about your plan for a newborn photoshoot. A pediatrician would be able to give you the recommendation about when to proceed for it based on your newborn health. Don’t make any assumptions about your newborn health, always consult with the pediatrician about your plan.
Check With Your Gynecologist
Giving birth to baby is a rebirth for the mother also and a mother goes through tremendous physical and psychological stress during the birth. So check with your gynecologist if you are fit for a newborn photo shoot because as a mother you would be handing your newborn during the session which might be a bit exhaustive
Plan With Your Spouse
A newborn photoshoot is all about parents joining this memorable moment and capture it for lifetime through a photo session. So it’s very important that both parents are available for the photoshoot. So check with your spouse to ensure that both mom and dad are fully invested in the photoshoot and would join the photo session. In case you are planning to invite extended family members to your photoshoot, then check with their availability also and plan accordingly.
Check WIth Your Photographer
I as a professional newborn photographer have done a lot of newborn photo shoot and guide all my clients about the best timeframe for their baby to get clicked. I discussed in length with client about their medical and personal preferences and accordingly I suggest them best way forward. So reach out to your professional photographer and discuss your specific situation and they would be able to guide you for this memorable moment.
